Coming to SUP?

SUP is a relaxed and easy hobby and we welcome people of all levels! Under the instructions of a professional, anyone can learn the right techniques and get to enjoy. Starting doesn’t require much preparation, but we’ve put together a few tips here that are good to check out in advance.

We disinfect all equipment after each user. In the water, the safety distance remain almost automatically, but we also follow the recommended safety distances on the dry land. Please do not attend courses or trips if feeling ill.

Prepare yourself with weather-appropriate sportswear. Because we are moving on water, getting your clothes wet is possible, but not likely. Therefore, it is recommendable to take some change clothes and a towel.

We do SUP with barefoot. If your toes get cold easily and you have neoprene slippers or other suitable lightweight footwear, please feel free to bring them with you.

Protect yourself from the weather

On hot days, be sure to protect your skin with sunscreen and head with for example hat or scarf. Also bring a bottle of water. Mosquitoes also belong in the Finnish summer so it’s good to protect against them, especially on trips during evenings.

All our classes have a weather reservation. A little summer rain doesn’t hurt, but if the wind is strong or there is a thunderstorm we can’t go out. If we have to cancel a lesson or trip due to weather conditions, we will shortly notify all participants.
